A deterioration of the Uncorrectable Sector Count parameter has appeared in the smart hard disk. I provide screenshots in aida64, CrystalDiskInfo, victoria.
Please tell me what to do, is it already pouring?
I do not understand in the Data Lifeguard Diagnostic for Windows program, smart is normal and tests too. I did not understand anything, I got different test values and how to understand it, what about the hard drive?
And smart in Data Lifeguard Diagnostic for Windows is generally different from others.
Answer 1, authority 100%
Parameter S.M.A.R.T. “Uncorrectable sectors count” shows the number of sectors, during reading / writing of which an unrecoverable error occurred and which were added by the disk firmware to the reassignment queue. Usually, after a full disk check in Victoria with the “Remap” option enabled, its value should become zero and the sectors in the queue will either be marked as normal (if the error was an accident), or recognized as damaged and reassigned (the value of the “Reallocated sectors count “).
A nonzero value of the parameter, in itself, does not unambiguously indicate a hard disk failure, but it is one of the signs of this. For example, Acronis assigns it a weight of 2 when determining hard drive health deterioration. If this number is constantly growing or, in addition to it, a full disk check shows many bad or slow-read sectors, the disk is likely to fail and needs to be replaced. To make the final decision on recognizing a disk as unusable, it is advisable to carry out a full check in several programs, including the manufacturer’s proprietary utility – for example, Data Lifeguard Diagnostic for WD drives.
WITH6 Offline Uncorrectable Sector Count – the number of uncorrected errors, that is, serious damage to the disk surface. Such errors appear when the space in the spare area of the disk for sector reassignment runs out. They can also appear during a sharp power outage at the moment when the disk is writing data – these are the so-called “software bad blocks”. If their number is one or two, and the rest of the parameters concerning the surface of the disk are normal, then you should not worry. If it is large, then the data must be saved.
So hdd still needs to be changed, it worked for 2 years.
